Cozy Homemade Sourdough Pizza Night 🍕 (Simple + Comforting)

There’s something about making pizza at home that just feels extra cozy.

This sourdough pizza has quickly become one of our favorite easy dinners — it’s simple, comforting, and perfect for slow evenings at home.

The crust is soft on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside, and you can top it with whatever you have in the fridge (which is exactly what we did here).

If you’re looking for an easy homemade pizza that feels a little special without being complicated, this is it 🤍

Why I Love This Recipe:

  • It’s super customizable.
  • Great way to use what you already have.
  • Feels cozy but still easy
  • Higher protein than traditional pizza (depending on your choice of toppings)

  • 15g extra virgin olive oil
  • 250g bread flour
  • 5g salt
  • Your choice of toppings- we used ground pork, TVP, mixed veggies, and a homemade cheese sauce with a little gochujang.

Instructions & Schedule:

  1. 9 am Feed sourdough starter
  2. 8 pm mix starter, warm water, and oil together
  3. Add in flour and salt then let rise for 30 minutes
  4. 8:30 pm first set of stretch and folds repeat this four times every half hour over the next 2 hours
  5. 10 pm cover your dough and let rise over night
  6. At 6 am the next day put your dough in the fridge
  7. 4 pm remove the dough from the fridge and place on a floured surface for 1 hour. It should rise slightly and be bouncy.
  8. 5 pm shape your pizza dough into your desired shape and add your preferred toppings!
  9. Bake at 400°f for 20-25 minutes
  10. Enjoy your cozy sourdough pizza!!

Tips:

  • Don’t overload the dough. (keeps it from becoming soggy)
  • Pre-cook toppings for best texture.
  • Use a hotter oven for a better crust.
  • Use chili flakes, hot honey or gochujang (my boyfriend’s favorite) if you like a little kick.
  • Double the recipe and cut the dough in half or quarters and freeze the dough for later! Make sure to dethaw at least 24 hours before you plan on using it!
