The Little Moments That Make Motherhood Feel Big

We were just sitting outside.

Nothing planned. Nothing special.
No outing, no routine, no “moment” I was trying to create. Just me… and him… side by side.

Our shoes matching.
His little feet next to mine.
The kind of quiet that only lasts a few seconds before something shifts again.

And somehow, it felt like everything.

🌿 The Moments You Don’t Plan For

Before becoming a mom, I thought the meaningful moments would be obvious.

~ The milestones.
~ The firsts.
~ The big, memory-making days.

But now I’m starting to realize…
those aren’t the moments that stay with me the most.

It’s this.

Sitting on the ground.
Doing nothing.
Not rushing anywhere.

Just being close.

☁️ The In-Between That No One Talks About

Motherhood is full of in-between moments.

~ Not quite playtime.
~ Not quite nap time.
~ Not part of any routine.

Just little pockets of time that happen in the middle of everything else. They’re easy to miss because they don’t feel important in the moment. But lately, I’ve been trying to notice them more. Because when I do, they feel… different. Slower. Softer. Almost like time pauses for a second.

🍼 You Don’t Have to Create the Moment

For a while, I felt like I needed to make these kinds of moments happen. Plan them, set them up, and make life feel slow.

But the truth is, they’re already there.

~ In the quiet seconds.
~ In the pauses between tasks.
~ In the times where nothing is really happening.

They don’t need to be created. They just need to be noticed.

🌸 When Life Doesn’t Feel Slow

Most days aren’t slow.

~ They’re full.
~ A little chaotic.
~ Sometimes overwhelming.

There are things to do, messes to clean, and a tiny human who needs me constantly. And I still feel that pressure sometimes — to make everything feel calm and intentional and put together.

But moments like this remind me:

It doesn’t have to all feel slow… to still hold something soft. ~

💛 This Is What I’ll Remember

I won’t remember everything about today. I won’t remember what I cleaned or what I got done. I probably won’t even remember what time we woke up or what we ate.

But I think I’ll remember this.

Sitting outside.
Side by side.
Doing nothing… and somehow everything at once.

🌷 A Gentle Reminder

You don’t have to slow your whole life down
to experience slow moments. They’re already there. In the middle of the chaos, in the in-between, in the quiet you almost miss.

All you have to do… is notice them.

If you’re in a full, messy, beautiful season too
you’re not missing it.

You’re living it 💛
